Why do I need salvation?
Romans 6:23 (ESV) says “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Every person is born into sin, and all have fallen short of the glory of God. Though He does not tolerate sin, we can place our hope in Jesus Christ. Believing that He lived, died, and rose again, and accepting Him is the only way to receive forgiveness, and be saved. (Romans 5:8; Luke 19:10; John 3:16)
I’m not a bad person, isn’t that good enough?
No one is able to live a perfect life, or achieve His forgiveness by our own works. Salvation can only be found in Jesus Christ; not in our religious acts, or best efforts. (Romans 5:8, 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7)
What about other religions?
Within the gospels, Jesus said that He is God’s Son, and the only way to God the Father. Jesus’ historically documented resurrection validates that He is Who He said He is. (John 6:37-40; John 6:44)
Can I lose my salvation?
No. If one has attained the faith, that faith cannot be washed away. However, God’s grace is not an excuse for us to live however we choose. We are to resist sin through the power of the Holy Spirit given to us, as believers. (John 10:28-30; Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 6:1-4; Titus 3:3-7; 2 Corinthians 5:17)
